Maria Grazia Chiuri’s period at Dior was characterized by a fierce feminist vision and social commentary. Her first collection in 2017 included the phrase “We Should All Be Feminists” and continued through a series of politicized and culturally relevant shows. During her tenure, Dior’s sales increased by over three times, and the company entrenched itself as a top luxury fashion brand.
Chiuri’s exit brings an end to an era, but her impact on the direction and identity of the brand will surely continue to be felt. Her emphasis on empowerment and inclusivity has left an indelible trace on the heritage of Dior.
